Public Wise, a voting rights group, put out an Insurrection Index that named Bucks County Republican Committee Chair Pat Poprik as one of 108 Pennsylvanians who either participated in the Jan. 6th Insurrection or helped spread the “Big Lie.”
Poprik made the list for being “one of the signers of the fraudulent electoral vote certificates that were submitted to Congress as part of the failed attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election.”
The list, deliberately launched in the run up to the 2022 election cycle, includes 16 elected officials and 15 candidates for office in Pennsylvania. Nationwide, there are 1,217 individuals, including 213 elected officials and 393 organizations who played a role in the Jan. 6 Insurrection that sought to violently overturn the 2020 election results, when President Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump by more than 7 million votes.
“From Public Wise’s perspective, [their] goal was to silence the voice of voters,” Public Wise co-founder and executive director Christina Baal-Owens told the Pittsburgh City Paper. “We really are sounding the alarm on the fact that these are far-right, white supremacists, who are running for offices like Congress, who are running for State Senate, who are running for governor, who are running for school board.”
And according to the City Paper, Pennsylvania is recognized as a key state for the group.
