Friday, May 6th: Paranormal Cirque 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m, Neshaminy Mall. If you’re looking for something completely different to do with your Friday night, this might fit the bill. Paranormal Cirque describes itself as “A crazy yet fun fusion between Circus, theatre, and cabaret” – think a cross between Cirque du Soleil and a haunted house. Tickets range from $21-$31 for adults. You may bring your teenager as well (tickets starting at $11), but no one under 13. Check out a preview video here and buy tickets here.
If a scary circus isn’t up your alley, perhaps you’d prefer going to see some live music. Hypnotic Eye, a Tom Petty Tribute band, is playing Friday night at the Great Barn Brewery Taphouse from 8-11 p.m.
Saturday, May 7th: Washington Crossing Spring Brewfest, 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Fancy yourself a beer connoisseur? The Friends of Washington Crossing Park are hosting a brewfest with over 50 breweries, food trucks, and live music. Tickets may seem pricey at $50 each, but for that cost you get unlimited 2 ounce tastings of over 100 different beers, in your souvenir tasting glass. The FAQ mentions that you may bring a pretzel necklace (for soaking up the suds), but there will also be vendors selling pizza, popcorn, BBQ and more. Tickets are available online. Bring your ID, even if you’re well over 21. And don’t bring your kids, as this is an adults-only event.
If you have a kid in tow on Saturday, perhaps the Spring Food Truck Festival at Bolton Mansion (85 Holly Dr., Levittown) could be the ticket. The event is from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and admission is FREE. The festival includes food trucks, children’s activities, vendors, a beer/cocktail garden, and a DJ.
Saturday evening, it’s Derby time. The Kentucky Derby airs on NBC starting at 2:30 p.m.. Post time is 5:57 p.m. Put on your fancy hat, and break out the bourbon. The classic drink of the Derby is the mint julep – 2 oz. bourbon, ½ oz. simple syrup, and fresh mint over crushed ice. For the most flavor, muddle the mint to get the essential oils into the drink. For a non-alcoholic version, make a mint simple syrup, and mix with unsweetened iced tea. 
Sunday, May 8th: It’s Mother’s Day. Personally, breakfast in bed sounds perfect to me for a mother’s day celebration, but some people may want to do something a little more festive. Champagne brunch could be the ticket to wow many a mom. There are quite a few planned, but likely reservations will be scant. If you don’t have a reservation yet, here are a couple brunches that sound quite lovely: Toast to Moms! at Crossing Vineyards & Winery, Mother’s Day Brunch at The Washington House, Mother’s Day Brunch at the River House at Odette’s,or Celebrate Mother’s Day at the Castle at Sand Castle Winery. If brunch or dinner won’t do, how about Baby Goat Yoga? Namaste Goat Yoga is hosting a mother’s day goat yoga session on Sunday morning from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at Smith’s Corner Farm in Pipersville.
