POWER Interfaith will conduct a coordinated statewide action Tuesday to directly address four PA legislators with this message:
THERE ARE NO MORE EXCUSES!
After years of denying budget requests, the state of Pennsylvania has raised more than enough revenue to finally fully fund public K-12 education, eliminate racial inequity in the current funding, and decrease school districts’ need to raise local property taxes.
POWER Interfaith, a statewide organization touching children in more than a dozen school districts, demands that:
- These four legislators as well as the PA General Assembly pass the Governor’s education budget proposals.
- The General Assembly allocate at least $800 million of American Rescue Plan funds for school facilities investment and an end to toxic school buildings and crumbling school infrastructure.
