Over 200 local residents lined the sidewalk nearly a half-mile long outside of the Tesla showroom on York Road in Warminster to protest Musk’s involvement in the Federal Government. Although Trump has insisted that Musk is merely a presidential advisor, Musk has been able to establish the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, without Congressional approval.
Unvetted employees of DOGE have been given access to sensitive information, attempted to shut down crucial programs such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and USAID, laid off thousands of federal workers (some of whom they’ve since tried to re-hire), and made conflicting and erroneous claims about finding “fraud” in government spending. Musk has threatened to make major cuts to social services such as Medicare and Medicaid in order to address government overspending and so-called “fraud.”
While Musk claims DOGE is working to make the government more efficient, many suspect DOGE’s primary purpose is to lift restrictions on Musk’s corporate interests while “dismantling public services.”
“Musk and his DOGE bros are endangering us all with their careless slashing of critical federal staffers,” said Kierstyn Zolfo of Indivisible Bucks County. “On his Republican-enabled firing spree, his minions mistakenly fired nuclear scientists who oversee our arsenal, and they have fired staff at the agencies who keep air traffic control and our food and drugs safe. This makes every single person in our country less secure, and no one voted for any of this, just like no one voted for Musk.”
While the courts have been overwhelmed with cases against DOGE, citizens across the country have begun organizing to show their resistance to Musk. In an effort dubbed “Tesla Takedown,” people across the country stood outside their local Tesla stores protesting Musk’s actions.
I went to a #TeslaTakedown protest near Philly yesterday to report on a grassroots revolution: thousands of Americans mad as hell at an unelected billionaire oligarchy – and unwilling to take it anymoreHow taking down Tesla can save our democracy. Saturday’s protest in Warminster was organized by a coalition of Southeastern Pennsylvania Indivisible organizations.
“After spending over $250 million to help elect Donald Trump, Elon Musk is now collecting on his investment.,” said Kelly Walker of Indivisible Montgomery County, the primary hosting organization for this event. “What we have seen these last 4 weeks from Musk and his DOGE crew is billionaire-driven authoritarianism, corporate overreach, and systemic corruption, and we are here to show we will not stand for it.”

The event was upbeat and peaceful until a trio of Trump supporters, including one woman wearing a Moms for Liberty t-shirt, barreled through the crowd, pushing into protestors and threatening minors.
The two men and woman snaked through the crowds, taunting protestors while behaving erratically. The female MAGA supporter pushed into two teenagers, nearly knocking them into the highway, while protestors gathered around her demanding that she leave the children alone.
The woman and her husband stayed at the protest for nearly an hour heckling the crowd while an unidentified man filmed their actions.

Despite the disruption, protestors remained at the site for nearly two hours demanding an end to what many see as Musk’s illegal interference in government.
Organizers insisted that this is only the beginning of the movement to stop Musk.
“We are joining with the larger protest movement that is opposing the appalling actions of Donald Trump and Elon Musk,” said Dean Miller of Indivisible Montgomery County. “All the hasty moves we’ve seen in this first month of Trump’s presidency were not approved by voters or by Congress.”
