Army veteran, attorney, and public safety expert Danny Ceisler has officially launched his campaign for Bucks County Sheriff after securing the unanimous endorsement of the Bucks County Democratic Committee.
Ceisler’s extensive background in military service, law, and community engagement has already drawn praise from across the Democratic spectrum in Bucks County.
“Danny’s experience coordinating disaster response for local communities with the Shapiro Administration will be invaluable to us here in Bucks County. As we well know, the challenges the Sheriff faces don’t always respect lines on the map,” said State Senator Steve Santarsiero.
State Representative Brian Munroe built on that sentiment, saying, “I think Danny Ceisler is a phenomenal choice. His background of service to the community, with the record of what he’s accomplished in his military service, is commendable and I look forward to supporting him.”
Munroe knows what he’s talking about when it comes to commitment to service. A 10-year veteran of the Radnor Township Police Department and a leader on public safety issues during his decade in elected office, Munroe is enthusiastic about partnering with Ceisler on county-wide law enforcement strategies.
Their experiences complement one another. While Munroe brings deep experience in law enforcement and legislative leadership, Ceisler offers expertise honed in the Governor’s Office and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA).
There, he worked on inter-agency coordination between the State Police, Office of Homeland Security, and Fire Commissioner to improve emergency response efforts. He also helped lead public-private partnerships on emerging technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence in public safety applications.
Representative Munroe is currently collaborating with the bipartisan Law Enforcement Caucus to create a statewide advisory panel and release a report on key challenges facing law enforcement across the Commonwealth. Ceisler’s experience working across public safety agencies and municipal borders is expected to dovetail well with these efforts. With Danny Ceisler as Sheriff partnering with Representative Munroe, Bucks County will be well-positioned to ensure we remain home to some of the safest communities in the United States.
A Career of Service
Ceisler’s dedication to public safety started early. At 18, he joined the United States Army, later commissioning as a Second Lieutenant through the Georgetown University ROTC program. He was awarded the Omar Bradley Award for Outstanding Leadership, and in 2016, served in a Joint Special Operations Task Force in Afghanistan, where he earned a Bronze Star Medal for his work as an intelligence officer on over 90 special operations missions.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ceisler was assigned to the Pentagon’s Crisis Management Team, working in the National Military Command Center to help coordinate support for overwhelmed civilian healthcare systems.
Fighting for Victims
A Temple Law School graduate, Ceisler has built a legal career advocating for victims of negligence and abuse. He’s represented survivors of sexual assault, injured law enforcement officers, and veterans harmed by defective military equipment, including more than 100 Army veterans suffering from damaged hearing related to their service—a condition he shares.
Deep Bucks County Roots
Ceisler lives with his wife Helen in Bristol Borough. He is a co-owner of Naked Brewing Company on Bristol Borough’s Mill Street. He’s certified EMT, a volunteer with Bristol’s Third District Volunteer Fire Company, and previously served on the board of the Livengrin Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center in Bensalem.
A Vision for the Sheriff’s Office
Ceisler’s platform centers around practical, values-driven reforms:
- Addressing Domestic Violence by launching an intergovernmental task force to break cycles of abuse.
- Promoting Common-Sense Gun Safety by ensuring legal compliance among gun shops, supporting gun safety education, and keeping firearms out of dangerous hands.
- Supporting Veterans by training all Sheriff’s deputies in veteran crisis response and strengthening the Veterans Treatment Court Program.
Former Bucks County Congressman and Under Secretary of the Army Patrick Murphy summed it up: “Danny is a battle-tested patriot who represents the best of his generation. Bucks County will be safer with him as our Sheriff.”
As Ceisler’s campaign gains momentum, his supporters believe he brings exactly the kind of leadership Bucks County needs: steady, experienced, community-rooted, and ready to serve.
