While the midterm elections are a little over 17 months away, Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie just picked up another endorsement in his bid to unseat Pennsylvania 1st Congressional District’s Republican incumbent Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick. According to the Harvie Campaign, he has already been endorsed by 28 current and former elected officials from across Pennsylvania.
Now there is another to add to that list: former PA Congressman Matt Cartwright.
“Congressman Cartwright knows firsthand how important it is that Pennsylvanians have a voice in Washington who will speak up for residents – not billionaires and special interests,” said Harvie. “I’m honored to have his support as we fight to flip this seat, restore the American Dream, and ensure working families can thrive.”
Cartwright served in U.S. House representing for PA’s 8th Congressional District, which includes the city of Scranton, from 2019 until this past year. Cartwright is known for his advocacy for health care, veterans, and working families while in office. He was also a key defender of the Affordable Care Act and a champion of the Camp Lejeune Justice Act for veterans.
“Our campaign continues to build incredible momentum thanks to grassroots support from every corner of the district,” Harvie added. “With leaders like Congressman Cartwright in our corner, we’re ready to bring real representation back to PA-01.”
