Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie will host his fifth town hall in Middletown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday as he continues talking to voters in Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District.
Harvie, a Democrat, is looking to unseat incumbent Republican Representative Brian Fitzpatrick in the 2026 midterm elections. Harvie announced his run for congress in April and faces three other Democrats in the May Primary: Rob Strickler, Lucia Simonelli, and Tracy Hunt.
Harvie was elected county commissioner in 2020 and is currently the chairman of the board of commissioners.
In previous town halls, Harvie has discussed topics such as affordable housing, campaign finance reform, and Republican health care cuts.
“I want to hear what’s on folks’ minds, whether it’s the cost of living, health care, education, or the future we’re building here in this district. If you have a concern, a question, or an idea, I’m here to listen,” Harvie said.
Fitzpatrick has not held an in-person town hall in the county since 2017, which he has received criticism for.
“Democracy works best when leaders show up and listen,” said Harvie. “This town hall is about having real conversations, sharing what I’m working on, and learning directly from the community. I want them to know that I am fighting for them, that we must fight for the working class and restore the promise of the American Dream”
There will be a question-and-answer session at the town hall for all attendees. The address for the location will be given upon RSVP.
