The second Bucks County Punk Rock Flea Market will be held Saturday to celebrate and provide space for alternative creativity through art and music through a punk and Goth perspective.
Local Bucks County organizations will be on hand to offer “skill share” talks and resources including A Woman’s Place, Planned Parenthood’s Rainbow Room and Bucks County Housing Group among others, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The talks will occur between live musical sets throughout the festival.
“We’ve always wanted to support small businesses and find a fun way to raise money and awareness of local organizations that are trying to help progressive causes … we definitely have more progressive politics present in our vendor selection and including the skill shares [and] talks from the organizations present,”said festival co-organizer Anja Keister said in an email.
The outdoor music only event after-party will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with performances by headliner RW Hellborn, Chuck Treece, The Azures and Mcrad, according Keister. James Lamb of Rivot Magazine is an event co-organizer.
Since the inaugural event held in December 2025, interest has grown, Keister explained. So far, about 1,200 people are listed on Facebook to attend Saturday’s festival.
“We were astonished at the [December] turn out … and we discovered that despite there being multiple art markets and fairs all over, Bucks County has a strong contingent of people excited about punk, alternative, progressive and marginalized businesses and do show up to come support them,” Keister said.
More than 400 people attended December’s event, which included 35 vendors.
“It seems that word of mouth is a great way to reach people, especially [for] art, music and progressive scenes. James has done a great job of harnessing the local community to let people know, and I focused on social media and FB groups to spread the word,” Keister said.
Because some immune-compromised, COVID-19 cautious folks might be turned off by closed, tightly packed events and this consideration helped drive the move to a mild-weather outdoor festival.
“We are very excited to have this outdoor market, as well as plans to have another outdoor event in August,” Keister said.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) art is banned for the event to provide a safe space for human-driven creativity and products, Keister added.
“This includes signage, products and advertising. We are excited to work with local artists – such as [Philadelphia-based] 215tears who drew the skeleton character for our event posters and show artists the respect they deserve …. This has meant having to turn down applicants or ask them to change parts of their products, but it is important to us. We may not catch all of it, but we are trying,” Keister said.
Local organizations will also have speakers in between music sets. Organizations include Planned Parenthood’s Rainbow Room, A Woman’s Place, BuxMont DSA, and more!
