Julie Cooper-Fratrik, who died last November at 84, will be remembered during a special First Thursday Literary Salon from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, September 3 inside Freeman Hall in Doylestown.
An Evening of Poetry in Memory of Julie Cooper is free and open to the public, according to an Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County press release.
“Whether through her poetry, her teaching, or a simple conversation, she inspired people to write, to listen and to see the world with greater empathy. This evening is our way of saying thank you—for her words, her friendship and the lasting imprint she made on Bucks County’s literary community and beyond,” said Bill Hemmig, an Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County member and salon organizer.

First Thursday Literary Salon series is modeled after traditional literary salons in which writers and readers gather to exchange ideas in small, intimate settings, the press release said.
“The series brings together Bucks County authors and poetry lovers for evenings of conversation, storytelling and literary appreciation,” the press release said.
