Napoleon Dynamite lovers can enjoy a screening of Napoleon Dynamite and meet Efren Ramirez, who played Pedro, at the County Theater in Doylestown on Nov. 3. The County Theater and Animation Producer Rob Feldmen are hosting a screening of the movie at 4 p.m. and will premier Feldmen’s new animated show.

The cast of the original Napoleon Dynamite film are voicing characters in Feldmen’s new kids animation show CYKO KO! ‘Surf’s OFF, Cyk!’. In an effort to support the new show and bring moviegoers to the theater, the special event will show the film and a screening of the new show before a ‘Q & A’ session with Ramirez.

Shannon Quinty, the County Theater’s programming coordinator, said Feldmen reached out to the theater to promote his new cartoon. Quinty said the theater decided to pair it with a screening of Napoleon Dynamite. The nonprofit theater is newly renovated and can accommodate up to 190 guests for the premier.

Before the screening, Maxwell’s on Main (MOM’s) will host a meet and greet at 2 p.m. with Ramirez. MOM’s will be serving Napoleon Dynamite themed appetizers. Guests can enjoy Tina, You Fat Lard Tots, Uncle Rico Tots, and a  Your Mom Goes to College Cocktail.

Attendees are encouraged to dress as a character from the movie to add to the fun. Quinty said Ramirez had surprises planned for attendees in costume.

“I know some of our staff will be in costume, and I know that Efren Ramirez in particular is very into the costumes,” Quinty said. “He is encouraging people to come. If somebody does show up in costume at our theater, we do give them a free small popcorn.”

Quinty, who was able to view the cartoons ahead of time, said the cartoon was an ode to old Saturday morning cartoons. She said she played the show for her six-year-old who giggled throughout.

Quinty, a big fan of the original Napoleon Dynamite release, said it was nice to see the cast of the film still had a good relationship with each other.

“It’s so fun to to hear like John Heders voice in like a different character, and also Hailey Duff’s voice is in there, which is cool and it just really feels like a Napoleon Dynamite reunion,” she said.

Quinty, who saw Napoleon Dynamite when it was first released in theaters, said she hopes the audience leaves with a renewed love for the movies. She said movies are important to see on the big screen.

“I’m a big believer that movies are created to be experienced with an audience, and like you know, you’re intended to laugh together, and you’re intended to take it all in in one viewing,” Quinty said.

First time viewers or die hard fans can purchase tickets to the screening and the meet and greet can be found on The County Theater website
