Are you called to make a difference in your community’s public schools?
Education Voters of PA has opened applications for its Public Education Champion Program (PEC).
Eight monthly virtual meetings will be held; beginning in September. Participants must attend seven of the eight meetings in order to complete the program and graduate as a member of the 2026-2027 PEC cohort.
Lucas Wolk, Education Voters of PA director of community impact said this program is a way to give people the necessary tools to make positive changes in their communities.
“The Public Education Champions Program was created to give parents, educators, school board members and community advocates the knowledge and confidence to become effective voices for public education,” Wolk said.
This program provides an in-depth curriculum on the inner workings of the Pennsylvania school funding system. Joining this program grants you access to a statewide network of people who are passionate about protecting public education.
Education Voters of PA is a non-profit group formed in 2007 to provide dedicated support to public schools in Pennsylvania. The Public Education Champion Program provides grassroots community members the chance to become part of their cause.
The program is open to anyone committed to strengthening public education in their community; space is limited. Applicants will join a brief virtual conversation to ensure the program is a good fit for them.
“Every day, decisions are made that affect Pennsylvania’s public schools, but many people are not sure how those decisions are made, or more importantly, how they can play a role in the process,” Wolk said.
