Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania state representative Tim Hayes has experiences other candidates don’t.
As a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard, Hayes understands the importance of community safety.
While serving in the National Guard, Hayes worked side-by-side with Philadelphia Police. Time spent with the police helped Hayes understand the number of resources required to adequately provide for communities and families.
As a result, four local sheriffs believe sending Hayes to Harrisburg is in the best interest of community safety. Sheriffs Danny Ceisler (Bucks), Kevin Dykes (Chester), Siddiq Kamara (Delaware) and Sean Kilkenny (Montgomery) have all endorsed his campaign for state representative in Bucks County’s 143rd House District where Hayes is running against Republican incumbent Shelby Labs.
“When you’re a young soldier, you’re living paycheck-to-paycheck, and when you’re on borough council, you’re constantly meeting people who are struggling to get by,” Kilkenny said. “Tim has the experience to fight for those who need help and keep our communities safe.”
“As president of the Dublin Borough Council, Tim has proven he fights to give police the support they need,” Ceisler said. “He led efforts to institute holiday pay for all police officers, and he secured new handguns for the borough’s police department. I trust Tim to put in the work to ensure law enforcement can carry out their responsibilities.”
Since 2019, Hayes has donated his borough council paycheck to the police department to help ensure law enforcement have the tools needed to provide for the community.
“Republicans try to say that Democrats don’t care about public safety, but I know that’s not true because there are decades of law enforcement experience between us. We fight to keep our communities safe while also embodying Democratic values. And that’s what Tim will do in Harrisburg,” Dykes said.
