Bio:

Austin Davis is the 35th Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania and the first Black person to hold the office in the Commonwealth’s history. Raised in the Mon Valley by a hairdresser and a union bus driver, he is a first-generation college graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. His career in public service includes serving in Allegheny County government and representing the 35th District in the PA House, where he led the Allegheny County House Democratic Delegation. Currently the nation’s youngest sitting Lieutenant Governor, he presides over the state Senate and chairs several key state councils, including the Board of Pardons and the Commission on Crime and Delinquency. He and his wife, Blayre, reside in western Pennsylvania with their daughter.

Key Issues: Austin Davis is centered on community safety and expanding opportunity for Pennsylvania families through historic investments in violence prevention and youth support. He has spearheaded the distribution of $85 million in Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) grants and secured $5 million to fortify security at community centers and places of worship. As a champion for the next generation, Davis launched the $11.5 million “BOOST” program, the first state-funded initiative in Pennsylvania history dedicated specifically to after-school programming. His platform emphasizes public safety infrastructure, including securing $60 million for county 911 services and re-establishing the Pennsylvania Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Furthermore, he has worked to modernize the justice system by digitizing the Board of Pardons and continues to advocate for fair education funding and economic policies designed to lift families out of poverty across the Commonwealth.
