The Bucks County Opportunity Council is asking for sponsors to donate gift cards and school supplies for low-income families.
“It is deeply unethical for a sitting school board member to be hired by members of her own board to a position at the local tech school,” said Pennridge School District parent Laura Foster.
The city’s current housing policies do not protect tenants from unsafe housing, while proactive rental inspections show real promise for fighting persistent housing-related health problems.
“It’s honest, pure, grassroots, bottom-up work representing the needs of Upper Bucks [communities] and people,” said Kim Barbaro.
The move could represent a massive expansion of immigrant detention in the Garden State.
A diverse group — faith leaders, college students, grandmothers, retired lawyers and professors — has been showing up at immigration courts across the nation to escort immigrants at risk of being detained for deportation by ICE officials.
Swegal hopes his movie will be a conversation starter that challenges viewers to feel empathy.
It’s unclear if Bucks County Sheriff’s deputies were involved.
“For a long time, people saw white supremacist politics and white nationalism as on the fringe of American politics. It has now become the mainstream of the American right, whose central foundation is within the Republican Party,” said Marc Morial, president of the Urban League.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Stage United to bring these performances to the Borough,” said Caitlin Hernandez, director of Parks & Recreation in the Doylestown Borough.
