A Republican legislator is demanding that the Pennsylvania Department of Health stop threatening to remove children from their homes after being exposed to COVID-19, but the agency says he’s taking the letters out of context “to use for his political gain.”  Lancaster County state Sen. Scott Martin, the chairman of the Senate Education Committee, asked acting Health Secretary Alison Beam and Pennsylvania Department of Education Secretary Noe Ortega on Oct. 6 to halt the letters coming from the Health Department to children who are part of contact tracing efforts after being exposed to the coronavirus.
