Bensalem’s newest public safety director should be a familiar face to many.On Wednesday, the township announced William McVey as its new public safety director. McVey, who has been with Bensalem police for 24 years, was appointed by Mayor Joe DiGirolamo.
The position was recently vacated by Fred Harran, who was sworn in as the elected Bucks County sheriff Monday. Harran held the public safety director title for over 15 years.
McVey takes the helm of the largest police department in the county with more than 100 officers.
