These Bucks County Lawmakers Voted to Ban Abortion in the PA Constitution

Women's rights and abortion rights are on the ballot this November. Local elections have never mattered more.
(L-R) Rep. Wendi Thomas, Rep. Craig Staats, Rep. Todd Polinchock, Rep. Meghan Schroeder, Rep. Frank Farry, Senator Bob Mensch, and Senator Robert Tomlinson.

These Bucks County Republican lawmakers voted late Friday night to amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to say that women are not guaranteed any rights relating to abortion or public abortion funding. Senate Bill 106 needs to pass once again in the next legislative session in January, and if it does, this proposal would be placed on the May ballot for Commonwealth voters to decide whether to add this to the constitution: “there is no constitutional right to taxpayer-funded abortion or other right relating to abortion.”
