Pennsylvania Democratic Jewish Group Calls Trump’s 2024 Presidential Run a ‘Threat to Democracy’

“We as Jewish Democrats will do all we can to ensure that a twice-impeached insurrectionist never holds the office of President again,” said DJOP Chair Jill Zipin.

Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania wasted no time in condemning Donald Trump’s declaration of his 2024 presidential candidacy.

“We reject Donald Trump’s politics of division, and the anti-freedom politics of his party’s wanna-be Trump imitators,” the board of directors for the political action committee wrote in their press release issued today.

DJOP also proffered that Trump’s announcement is nothing more than “a transparent ploy to shield himself from any number of state and federal legal investigations,” pointing to his unethical involvement in pressuring Georgia state officials to help overturn his loss in the 2020 election.

In addition to the Georgia investigation, Trump is also under investigation for inciting the January 6 insurrection and for removing and failing to return classified documents to the National Archives, among other ongoing legal probes.

“Donald Trump is a threat to democracy and to both Democratic and Jewish values,” said DJOP Chair Jill Zipin. “His Make America Great Again followers remain committed to him and are fully prepared to work for his reelection.”

Zipin’s words serve as a stark reminder of the threat to democracy that Trump presents.

“We as Jewish Democrats will do all we can to ensure that a twice-impeached insurrectionist never holds the office of President again,” she said.

Founded in 2008, DJOP is a political action committee that supports progressive candidates and legislation.
