It wasn’t long after the public learned that SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas had accepted lavish vacations from billionaire Harlan Crow that other political benefactors, including Bucks County’s GOP Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, were identified.

Democratic Jewish Outreach PA (DJOP) has called for Fitzpatrick to return the $27,806 his campaign received from Crow in light of the donor’s extensive collection of Nazi artifacts and authoritarian statuary.

DJOP Chair Jill Zipin said Thursday in a statement that the collection “should send chills down the spine of any member of Congress, especially one who formerly co-chaired the House Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism.”

“Decency should tell Congressman Fitzpatrick to join DJOP in rejecting Harlan Crow’s explanation that he collects these items — which include statues of the world’s worst authoritarian leaders — because he hates fascism,” Zipin added.

Founded in 2008, DJOP is a political action committee that supports progressive candidates and legislation and sponsors educational programs on contemporary issues. With board members throughout Pennsylvania, its effort is driven by the traditional Jewish values of the pursuit of justice and the principle of “tikkun olam,” Hebrew for “repair of the world.”
