Democracy Rocks at Free ‘Bucks The System’ Concert To Help Get Out the Vote for February 13 Special Election

The event organizer, The Voter Project, is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring all Pennsylvania voters can cast a ballot in a safe, secure, and convenient way.

Bucks The System, a free concert hosted by The Voter Project, will be held on Saturday, beginning at 4:30 p.m., at Snipes Farm and Education Center in Morrisville, to help get out the vote for the upcoming February 13 special election taking place in  Pennsylvania’s 140th District.

The race between Democrat Jim Prokopiak and Republican Candace Cabanas will determine if Democrats regain control of the Pennsylvania House ahead of the 2024 general election.

The current 101-101 split between Democrats and Republicans follows the resignation of former Rep. Jim Galloway (D-140), who was elected district judge for Falls Township in the November municipal election.

“With voting rights under attack across the nation, we must break down the barriers that young people and students face to ensure that all voices are heard in 2024,” said The Voter Project’s Ava Bosco.

The free event features live entertainment by Couch and Spilly Cave, along with complimentary snacks and beverages from Burrito Feliz, Little Sicilian, Funellas and Drip.

The Wander Bar will be offering hard and soft drinks with the first two on the house and reasonably priced refills.

“We are grateful to be working with non-profit organizations, local businesses, and community organizers that are dedicated to uplifting and empowering the largest, most diverse generation in U.S. history,” Bosco said.

Guests may enter to win exciting prizes including a free couch, a Yeti cooler, a backstage pass to meet members of Couch and more by simply registering to vote, checking voter registration status or by helping GOTV by posting on social media with a hashtag to be provided at the concert.
