The Board of Directors of Democratic Jewish Outreach Pennsylvania (DJOP) endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president of the United States on Monday.
Following President Biden’s Sunday announcement that he will not seek a second term, Jill Zipin, chair of the statewide political action committee, said Kamala Harris “unquestionably has the skills and the experience to save our nation from the threat that a second Donald Trump presidency presents.”
“Her record as a prosecutor, senator and Vice President clearly demonstrates her ability to lead,” Zipin said. “It also shows that she is ready to address the challenges of a campaign against Donald Trump and his right-wing MAGA extremists.”

Zipin emphasized Harris’ full support for women’s reproductive rights and how the current administration issued the first ever National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, demonstrating her complete understanding of the crisis facing the Jewish community.
“Vice President Harris has earned our support for election as President of the United States. We have every confidence that she will earn and win the Democratic nomination for President, and that she will win the election on Nov. 5 against the right-wing agenda that convicted felon Donald Trump and his MAGA allies have outlined in their anti-woman, white supremacist Project 2025 document,” she added.

Deciding not to run for reelection “was a selfless act,” Zipin said about President Joe Biden, and commended his commitment to the nation and to his party. And DJOP is confident that Harris will successfully continue the progress set forth by the Biden administration on ending gun violence, safeguarding women’s rights, and enacting measures to combat antisemitism.
DJOP is a state-wide political action committee that supports progressive candidates and legislation and sponsors educational programs on forward-thinking issues.
