With the holiday season upon us, families across Bucks County are joining in the Christmas spirit by donating food to families in need. So too, is the Fred Beans Automotive Group, who announced that they will be donating to a food bank with every vehicle sold, starting Black Friday through the end of the year. The automotive group has set an ambitious goal for its dealerships to sell 4,000 vehicles, which they anticipate will fund 100,000 meals – double the meals funded last year through a similar year-end campaign.

“This is the time to buy a new car or truck,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group. “We not only provide extra savings and incentives on our vehicles, but we do so with the intention to make a difference with each sale.”

Fred Beans automotive group is also collecting nonperishable food items to add to the monetary donations, and will be donating to the following companies: Bread of Heaven Food Pantry Abington, the Bucks County Opportunity Council, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the Flemington Area Food Pantry, the Salvation Army of Boyertown, the Salvation Army of West Chester, the Washington Community Food Pantry and Willow Grove Baptist Church Food Pantry.

Fred Beans Automotive Group launched its first meals challenge in May 2020, at the height of the pandemic, with a goal of providing 500,000 meals by the end of the year. The company has

since held concentrated year-end campaigns and supported employees in taking paid time off to volunteer at the hunger-fighting organizations receiving Fred Beans’ contributions.

“In support of our organization alone, the Fred Beans Automotive Group has contributed nearly $200,000 to help us fight hunger in Bucks County,” said Joseph Cuozzo, Development Director for the Bucks County Opportunity Council. “We are grateful for the partnership to help us aid food insecure children, seniors and adults. Last fiscal year, we supported nearly 10,000 households through our food pantries and distributed well over 3 million pounds of food. We cannot do that alone.”
