The Doylestown Action League organized a rally and community day of action in front of the Courthouse in Doylestown on April 19. The event, part of a nationwide campaign that saw hundreds of rallies across the country, attracted about 500 peaceful protesters. Larissa ‘Lolly’ Hopwood and Kevin E Leven facilitated the day’s event. Attendees were able to speak about their varied personal experiences and worries under the current Trump administration. In addition to the rally, attendees donated food, cleaning supplies, diapers, books and more. The donations were enough to fill 5 cars. The items will be donated to the Bucks County Opportunity Council (which has been impacted by the cuts to the USDA) and Casa Del Pueblo (which offers spiritual, social and practical support to our immigrant community). – Larisaa Hopwood
