Rob Strickler wants to hear from you.
Strickler, a Democrat from Buckingham Township, is tired of what he calls the significant threat to democracy posed by Donald Trump and many of Trump’s Republican loyalists.
“Over the decades I’ve supported whoever I thought was the best candidate, voting for Republicans like Arlen Specter and Jim Greenwood or Democrats like Bob Casey and Patrick Murphy,” Strickler said on his website.
Strickler, a long-shot candidate who potentially faces frontrunner Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie and Republican-turned-Democrat Tracy Hunt in the Democratic primary, hopes voters will nevertheless pick him to challenge incumbent Republican Brian Fitzpatrick to represent Pennsylvania’s first congressional district (PA-01) in Washington, D.C.
Strickler will host a town hall Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Buckingham. The address is provided to those who RSVP for the event.
“I’m not a career politician – I’m a citizen who’s concerned about protecting our civil rights and ensuring our government works for low to middle income Americans, not billionaires,” said Strickler. “This town hall is about honest and civil conversation, transparency and listening to the people I hope to represent in Washington.”
The event is open to all voters – regardless of their political affiliation – “and will provide an opportunity … to ask any questions and engage directly with [him] about the issues that matter most to the community.”
The Buckingham event is part of Strickler’s campaign efforts to connect with PA-01 constituents, which includes Bucks County and a sliver of Montgomery County.
Strickler’s campaign focuses on adhering to the U.S. Constitution, removing money from the election process and common-sense tax reforms to benefit working families.
