With the start of Pride Month just around the corner, Bucks County residents will have the chance to spend an evening celebrating storytelling, community and the power of contemporary voices through the Pride Literary Arts Salon presented by The Arts & Cultural Council of Bucks County (A&C).
A&C is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and celebrating the arts across the region. Through exhibitions, performances, educational programs and community events A&C fosters cultural vitality and creative collaboration throughout Bucks County
“This salon is about honoring the written word as a living, shared experience,” said A & C President Clifford Eberly. “Pride Month offers an especially meaningful moment to elevate voices that reflect the richness, complexity, and diversity of our community.”
A&C has brought together a group of writers, including Chad Frame, Sean Hanrahan, Bill Hemmig and Nicole Steinberg for an intimate night between author and audience.
“The A&C exists to be welcoming and to celebrate the amazing mix of artists across the county. Creating spaces and opportunities where visual and literary artists can connect, create, and thrive. The LGBTQ+ community has long been a big part of our arts scene as leaders, supporters and creators,” said writer Bill Hemmig. “We’re excited to host this long-overdue Pride Literary Salon to recognize that contribution and to show our support for every artist in Bucks County.”
The night is based on the tradition of literary salons – gatherings where writers share work in a conversational, living-room-style setting. Following the readings spanning from memoir, fiction, poetry and cultural commentary. Guests are invited to participate in a Q&A with the authors.
