Bob Harvie is gaining traction, and positive attention in Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District.
At a press conference Monday, Indivisible Bucks County, a grassroots political advocacy and resistance group, endorsed Harvie, a Bucks County Commissioner, in his campaign to unseat incumbent Republican Brian Fitzpatrick to represent Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District in Washington D.C. in the November midterm elections.
“I’m honored to be endorsed by Indivisible because I will be a congressman who shows up for you, who holds town halls, who will listen to your issues and deliver for you,” Harvie said.
Speeches focused on Harvie’s career in public service, his twenty years as a social studies teacher at Bucks County Technical High School and his experience in municipal government.
Harvie received recognition for the creation and implementation of the Bucks County Co-Responder program, which has social workers accompany law enforcement on calls.
Co-leader of Indivisible Bucks County Kierstyn Zolfo acknowledged this program as one of the factors in Indivisible’s endorsement of Harvie’s candidacy.
“Bob worked with his fellow leaders, local law enforcement and impacted communities to provide a resolution that balanced the needs of all stakeholders,” said Zolfo. “That’s the kind of leader we need representing us in Washington D.C.”
Attended by 75 members of Indivisible Bucks County, conference speakers included the co-leaders Laura Rose and Zolfo, as well as Bucks County Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia along with Harvie.
“I’ve served beside Bob Harvie for almost seven years. He’s thoughtful, he’s kind, he’s honest, he’s actually patient to a fault. He’s smart, he’s well-spoken, and he really gets things done,” Marseglia said.
