Congressman Ro Khanna, a Bucks County native representing California’s 14th District, will be in Warminster on Tuesday to support fellow Democrat Dr. Kimberly Rose, a Northampton Supervisor running for reelection in an event hosted by Turn PA Blue and Kennedy Democrats.
Rose, who is running for her third term, said she is most proud of her public service record.
“I have always made sure that the police are fully funded in everything that they need,” said Rose. “I also voted for a new police department building … and I have provided for our officer safety with in-car and body cameras.”
Northampton is also the first township in Bucks County to have 24/7 fire and rescue coverage by utilizing a combination of career and volunteer firefighters.
“Tax dollars are precious,” said Rose, who has served as township treasurer for 11 years and has generated $25 million of state and federal grants for the municipality since first elected to the board. “I just want to make sure that every dollar goes where it needs to go.”
Khanna, a graduate of Council Rock High School, and Rose, both value and realize the importance of preserving open space.
“I know we need to safeguard our environment for the new century,” Khanna remarks on his website. “We need to strike a balance of growing our economy while at the same time preserving the open space and park land.”
Rose couldn’t agree more. “Since I have been on the board, we have preserved the Rook Farm, which is 75 acres of farmland that will never be developed,” she said. Additionally, the township purchased the Northampton Valley Country Club that not only provides income for the township, but assures the open space won’t fall into the hands of developers.
After leaving Council Rock High School, Congressman Khanna eventually went on to graduate from Yale Law School in 2001 and has represented California’s 14th Congressional District since 2017.
The October 3 event offers a VIP cocktail hour, beginning at 5 p.m., followed by a meet and greet from 6-7:30 p.m. at Ann’s Choice Senior Living Community located at 30000 Ann’s Choice Way in Warminster.
