First off, thank you for popping by the site, and subscribing to our email newsletter. Here at BCB, our name is our mission: To be a beacon for all things Bucks County.
Why? Because Bucks County is home to over 600,000 human beings, features cinematically beautiful land and towns, has contributed greatly to American culture (pop and otherwise) and is and has always been very engaged with the project of American democracy. But you don’t always get this from the local media, whether you’re counting the big city news ecosystems situated nearby, or from our own local presses, who’ve got their hands full with crime reporting, sports, and plenty else.
Taking a fresh and elegant approach to online newsgathering, the Beacon will gather daily all that is Bucks through an original in-house voice and style, enterprise reporting on matters relevant to the county (political and otherwise), and aggregate the best of local news elsewhere. In the doing, we also want to elevate the smart, progressive community that’s always been here, and who we want to hear from now more than ever.
That may very well mean… YOU. In the coming weeks, you’re going to see Op-Eds from folks all over Bucks County, whether they’re from the worlds of politics, non-profits, small businesses, educators, activists and more.
