Has served 36 years on Board of Supervisors (among the longest-serving active elected municipal officers in Bucks County). Past president and current board member of the Bucks County Association of Township Officials. In his second three-year term on the Resolutions Committee of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors. chairs the Newtown Area Joint Zoning Council
In the 1980s got involved as a volunteer firefighter with the Lingohocken Fire Company, ultimately serving in leadership roles that included chief and president. Today, he remains involved with fundraising activities with the department and serves as president of the Fire Company Relief Association.
Over the decades, he’s been integral to everything from spearheading extensive open space preservation efforts and controlling development, to helping to locate a national veterans cemetery in Washington Crossing.

He’s also promoted transparent government through the launch of broadcasted public supervisors meetings (back in the 1990s, when that was rare) and seen that the township gets the services it needs for public works, police protection and more in a cost-effective manner. Open space would be a focus for Pogonowski if elected to a seventh term. “We still have two large parcels that I would like to see preserved”
