Doylestown Action League organized a protest Saturday after the Trump Administration started off 2026 with a coup in Venezuela by kidnapping President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Celia Flores, and then killing a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis. About 200 people came out, despite the cold, rainy weather.
An ICE agent fatally shot Renee Nicole Macklin Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, during an immigration sweep. The Trump administration tried to paint her as a domestic terrorist. She was not. And video shows she was trying to safely drive away from approaching masked agents. The Guardian reported on Sunday that “2025 was ICE’s deadliest year in two decades.”

“This speaks to the moment that so many people showed up on such short notice considering the weather,” said Larissa Hopwood, co-founder of the Doylestown Action League. “It shows people are really upset this administration is doing things to its citizens and internationally that are fatal and illegal and there’s not any accountability.”
