Despite Recent Gains, Women Continue to Be Underrepresented in Pennsylvania’s State Legislature

“On the one hand, I’m glad that the Senate Republicans have finally acknowledged that this is an issue and that they thought that they had to in fact move a bill, but unfortunately the bill that they moved is not a solution,” said State Sen. Steve Santarsiero.
POWER Interfaith Bucks and Children First PA are hosting the event Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Bristol Township School Administration Building.
“Here in Harrisburg, in the ‘People’s House’, we held onto the people’s majority, because we’ve been delivering for the work of the people,” said PA House Speaker Joanna McClinton.
“Addressing affordable housing is a top priority for me, and this state grant for Habitat for Humanity is a crucial part of that effort,” said State Rep. Davis.
The program was created to recoup $250 million in owed court costs, fees, fines, and victim restitution.
Only one Republican and five Democrats agreed to participate. The remaining candidates vying to represent 10 House seats apparently couldn’t be bothered.
“Our school district … had been underfunded for years,” said local State Rep. Tina Davis.
“Rep. K.C. Tomlinson joined other MAGA Republicans by voting against free lunch for children in need, a heartless vote that will hit hardest the most impoverished student populations,” said the PA House Democratic Campaign Committee.
Every Republican state representative in Bucks County voted against the proposed law that would protect their constituents from blindly paying hidden fees.
“The Grundy Museum is a cornerstone of Bristol Borough, dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich history,” said Democratic State Rep. Tina Davis.
Several Bucks County Democrats are featured on their list highlighting their effort to expand the Democratic majority in the state House.
