On March 6 at the Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland, the Doylestown-based nonprofit will hold a dinner and awards presentation to celebrate young people, their achievements, and a decade of service programs.
The renovated Boone Farm in Middletown Township will open as a permanent museum in 2025.
“Diversity, equity and inclusion, that’s code in the mouth of the president for Black people,” said Jacqui Lewis, senior minister at Middle Collegiate Church in New York City and author of the forthcoming book “The Just Love Story Bible.”
“The hope is to foster a better understanding of who our local immigrant community is, what challenges they face and how we can be more welcoming and understanding as a community,” said Doylestown Borough Manager John Davis.
This was part of a nationwide response in locales across the country to oppose Trump’s actions since taking office, which legal scholars say are putting the country in a “constitutional crisis.”
Both sides are declaring victory.
The February 18th event in Doylestown seeks to “turn down the temperature” and promote fact-based, meaningful dialogue around diversity, equity and inclusion and critical race theory.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Stage United to bring these performances to the Borough,” said Caitlin Hernandez, director of Parks & Recreation in the Doylestown Borough.
