A federal judge on Monday temporarily halted broad and sweeping funding cuts to federal governmental agencies; a hearing is set for May 22 to consider a longer injunction.
The measure includes in-person early voting and procedural updates for mail ballots that election officials have wanted for years. However, the exclusion of voter ID requirement makes its prospects in the GOP-controlled state Senate at best uncertain.
“It’s easy to mock this legislation because it’s so inane and embarrassing — and we have,” said Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA).
Supporters of the ballot referendum say that preventing Pittsburgh Water from selling to a private company will protect water quality and keep costs low.
If ICE approves the 287(g) “task force model” application and the sheriff moves forward without the commissioners’ green light, legal action will be imminent and “Bucks County taxpayers will be on the hook.”

This leaves just a handful of clinics offering abortions after 28 weeks into pregnancy — many on a case-by-case basis.
