VoteVets, the largest progressive group of veterans in America, has endorsed State Representative Jared G. Solomon (D-202) in the 2024 race for state attorney general.
Elected in 2016 to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Solomon currently serves as Chair of the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee and Chair of the Philadelphia House Delegation Subcommittee. Additionally, he sits on the Policy Committee and an array of caucuses including Climate, LGBTQ Equality, PA SAFE, Women’s Health, and others.
“VoteVets knows that Pennsylvania is on the frontline of the battle to protect voting rights, women’s reproductive rights, and so many of the fundamental freedoms that veterans fought to protect,” Solomon said. “That’s why I am so grateful to have the VoteVets community’s endorsement for Attorney General, because they know I am a fighter.”
A former JAG Officer in the Army Reserves and current Pennsylvania National Guardsman serving in a Trial Defense Services unit, Solomon has worked to reduce gun violence, call out political corruption, invest in Pennsylvania’s public schools and defend abortion access since being elected to public office.
Michelle Henry, Pennsylvania’s current attorney general, was appointed by Josh Shapiro upon his gubernatorial win in 2022. By tradition, an appointed attorney general agrees not to run for the office in the next election cycle.
VoteVets, a political action committee established in 2006, is composed of progressive veterans, military families, and their civilian supporters. The PAC addresses public issue campaigns to amplify the voice of veterans on matters of national security, veterans’ care and everyday issues that impact the lives of those who served and their families.
