Bucks County Young Democrats will welcome Pennsylvania State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta (D-181) to Doylestown on April 4 to support his candidacy for state auditor general in the upcoming 2024 primary election.
“Representative Kenyatta represents a brighter future not only for the Democratic Party, but for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” said Connor O’Hanlon, CPA – Chair of the Doylestown Democrats, Director of Candidate Development for the Bucks County Democratic Committee. “His passion and dedication to improving the lives of Pennsylvanians is inspiring. His fearless leadership motivates me and countless other young people to believe in themselves and make their voices heard.”
The Pennsylvania State Auditor General plays a crucial role in promoting accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility in state government operations by ensuring that all state money is spent legally and properly.
By way of performance reviews, the auditor general determines the effectiveness of state programs and agencies and assesses whether programs are meeting their objectives and by providing recommendations for improvement.
“In an environment where young people are growing increasingly disaffected about the state on national politics, getting Malcolm elected is crucial to showing our peers that there is a place for young people in government with a chance to actually make a difference in how the state is run,” said Dan Wood, Doylestown Township Supervisor and Bucks County Young Democrats Treasurer. “BCYD can’t wait to see Malcolm represent us as we continue to get young people elected across Bucks County.”
Kenyatta, who secured the endorsement of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party for auditor general, is a third-generation Philadelphian and was appointed to lead the Presidential Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans by President Joe Biden.
“Bucks County is the key to the Keystone State. In the vital 2024 election, Bucks County Young Democrats will have a significant impact on turnout and ultimately this could play a huge role in determining our next President,” said Bucks County Young Democrats President Nastasha Raisley. “In order to flip the House, hold the Senate, and secure a Biden re-election, it is imperative that young folks join with us this year.”
The event begins at 5:30 p.m., at Hops/Scotch which is located at 22 South Main Street in Doylestown. Guests are asked to RSVP to mikayla@spbstrategies.com and tickets to the event are available online.
