OPINION: Let Bucks County Voters Have a True Choice in May’s Elections

Steve Santarsiero has represented the 10th District in the Pennsylvania Senate since 2019, where he serves as the Minority Caucus Secretary and Minority Chair of the State Government Committee. His path to public service began after witnessing the September 11th attacks, which inspired him to transition from a career in law to teaching social studies at Bensalem High School. Previously, Santarsiero served as Pennsylvania’s first Chief Deputy Attorney General for Environmental Protection and represented the 31st District in the State House. He is recognized for his pragmatic leadership on environmental protection, gun violence prevention, and education reform.

The state Senate voted to approve a ban Tuesday with bipartisan support. The bill next moves to the House where it is expected to pass.
“On the one hand, I’m glad that the Senate Republicans have finally acknowledged that this is an issue and that they thought that they had to in fact move a bill, but unfortunately the bill that they moved is not a solution,” said State Sen. Steve Santarsiero.
“This bill would provide Pennsylvania students with the necessary critical thinking skills and knowledge to evaluate the accuracy of news stories for themselves,” said state Sen. Katie Muth.
“Addressing affordable housing is a top priority for me, and this state grant for Habitat for Humanity is a crucial part of that effort,” said State Rep. Davis.
“The Grundy Museum is a cornerstone of Bristol Borough, dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich history,” said Democratic State Rep. Tina Davis.
The state senator believes the county is changing from purple to shades of blue. But people volunteering and getting involved is vital to continuing this progress.
Municipal elections are important, greatly influence day-to-day living for constituents, and impact public education, property taxes, oversight of elections, and more.
